Most collectors do not realize that the Reich Chancellery was split into three specific sections. The “Reichkanzlei”, was the most important section as this was where all decisions of national importance were discussed. The Reichkanslei was under the control of SS Gruppenführer Dr. Hans Lammers. The second area known as the “Praesidialkanzei” dealt with the official public life of Hitler. The last section was known as “Kanzlei des Führers” and was under the leadership of Reischsleiter Philip Bouhler, and dealt with all matters pertaining to the NSDAP Party. Within this section was also the Private Chancellery of Adolf Hitler, who took care of his private affairs. Each division had their own tableware and cutlery.

This porcelain soup dish comes from the third section, “Kanzlei des Führers”. The plates measures 24,5 cm  round, having a deeper center with matching upper edge. Printed in brown letters having some slight wear on the upper edge is, “KANZLEI DES FÜHRERS”. The back of the plate it is hallmarked, “Johann Seltmann / Vohenstrauss / Bavaria”. Under the name is a Bavarian crown and under the hallmark is a three-leaf clover-like logo with the word, “HEYE”.
