Nice porcelain plate by Rosenthal showing Hitler’s Berghof Haus Wachenfeld in Obersalzberg. Hand painted, no chips, cracks, or discoloration. A souvenir as it was sold in Berchtesgaden and in the Obersalzberg area to tourists who visited the place where Adolf Hitler had his mountain residence. Hitler purchased the Haus Wachenfeld with the profits of his book Mein Kampf and lived there as he purchased it until he became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. He then greatly enlarged the Haus Wachenfeld and renamed it Berghof because of its position on the top of a mountain in Obersalzberg above the Bavarian city of Berchtesgaden.
