Pair of glass salt and pepper shakers with silver lids, from the ‘Fuhrersonderzug’ Hitler’s private train. The lids bear the initials ‘D R’, for ‘Deutsche Reichsbahn’ (‘the German national railway’). The pepper shaker has the hallmark ‘WMF’ for Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik and shows a crescent and a crown, with a silver purity mark of ‘835’.
