After the bombing of the Obersalzberg and subsequent death of Hitler in late April 1945, many locals looted the Berghof and nearby Mooslahnerkopf teehaus. While food and other provisions were naturally at the top of their shopping list, many people also took silverware, linens and other furnishings some of which turn up in households and collections today.
Here is an example for sale, Formal pattern tablecloth.
The tablecloth is linen, with an embroidered square pattern. In one of the four corners is a finely embroidered monogram of Adolf Hitler, with an eagle holding a swastika. Measures 175 x 125 cm.
Included COA.
