The cigar cutter is 7 inches in length and at its widest section at the bottom handle, it is one inch wide. The edges of both sides of the handle have the traditional “Greek Key” decorative panels that we see on most of the items especially ordered for the Berghof’s Reich government dinner set. The silvering throughout both sides remains in choice condition being smooth, effectively bordered by the edge pattern. At the upper end portion is the cup insert to place the cigar drawing end in for cutting. Below the cutting cup is also another smaller hole, should the user require a cut for an even smaller cigar. At the upper right is the spring-loaded activator lever which controls the cutting process. The blade lever itself is producer-marked with the logo of a circle having arrows all around it, being a well-known Solingen blade maker that also made SA daggers. At the bottom of the handle is a raised political eagle having half-open wings and looking to the viewer’s left.. The bird clutches a wreath with immobile swastika. On either side of the wreath respectively, is the Führer’s monogram, “AH”. The details throughout the bird and swastika are all there. At the top of the reverse handle are the standard Bruckmann hallmarks normally seen on all AH flatware from this vintage service being a crescent, crown “800” and an eagle.
